DSO Pops Series concert Feb. 6, 7 & 9 also features debut of new Assistant Conductor Karina Canellakis
DALLAS – The Dallas Symphony Orchestra welcomes Tony® Award-winning superstar Bernadette Peters to the Meyerson Symphony Center at 8 p.m. on Feb. 6, 7 and 9. The stunning star of stage and screen wills howcase the best of Broadway’s stage, including popular standards and hits by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim and others set to the fabulous sounds of the Dallas Symphony.
The DSO Pops Series concert will also feature the Dallas debut of conductor Karina Canellakis, who in September 2014 will begin her tenure as the DSO’s new Assistant Conductor. The American-born, Juilliard-trained Canellakis will open the program with the popular Overture to Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II, Rossini’s famous William Tell Overture and the Overture to West Side Story by Bernstein.
On the second half, the Dallas Symphony and conductor Marvin Laird perform with Bernadette Peters in a celebration of American song and musical showstoppers highlighting her stellar, four decades-long, Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning career.

Special Concert Notice: Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, the Bernadette Peters performance on Saturday, February 8, 2014 has been moved to Thursday, February 6, 2014. The performance will begin at 8:00 PM at the Meyerson Symphony Center, and the programming will remain the same.
