How many of you here in Brashear love to read?
Thanks to John Sellers and his family; they have given me an idea. I would like to suggest maybe we build a spot to get books in Brashear. Little Free Library is the website and it gives an idea of building a receptacle to house books. I am asking because I would like this to happen here in Brashear.
Tom and I love to read and often late in the day need something to read. This free library would allow us to have a spot to find something to read. Check it out on the internet and let me know by phone or email if you are interested. The books will come from anyone who would like to donate one or more. We have many to start this off.
I feel this could be a great thing for Brashear. We have the materials if anyone would like to build this receptacle, let us know. Remember my number is 903-612-8806. More information will be coming soon and would like to have a small meeting to discuss where to set this receptacle and other concerns.
Wow, cold it is. I just got home at 8 p.m. and it is 19. How low will it go? I sincerely hope this cold weather has helped to get rid of some of the bugs we have had in the past. Grasshoppers especially. We have been so lucky to only have cold without snow, ice, or both.
Tom is getting the garden ready this week because they are actually talking about 100 percent chance of rain for Monday and maybe Tuesday. We’ve gone a long time without rain. Pray for some of this moisture.
Sandra Jones wanted us to know what a great group of young people she gets to work with at Brashear Baptist Church. These young people gave up their Saturday to help a young couple move. I know some of these young people and totally agree with her about them being the best.
Also, I would like some prayer requests for Sandra Jones’ sister, who is in Houston for cancer treatments. Sharon Moore would like prayers for her aunt, JoAnn Prince. Cancer seems to be hitting so many so hard. My Prayer Warriors, get to your knees and let our God know we need His help.
Last Sunday, our church, First United Methodist Church Sulphur Springs, started a new contemporary service, Ignite. It was great. This service will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Gym. If you are searching for a place to praise and worship, check it out.
Congratulations to the BPA students from SSHS on advancing to state competition. I worked with students in BPA for 15 years. These students worked hard and deserve some special recognition for advancing. Good luck.
I sincerely hope all of you are staying warm. I would love to hear your news or memories of other cold weather days from the past here in Brashear. Elton Stewart told me on the day he was born it was the coldest day on record and it still stands.
