LINDEN – Country star Travis Tritt is in fine voice. In a blog dated Jan. 10, music critic Peter Cooper said Tritt was the “best male vocalist in Nashville.”

He shouldn’t be surprised. Nashville session musicians have known this for most of Tritt’s 25 years on the country music scene.
“I think I’m singing better than I did in my 20s and 30s” Tritt said. “I know it’s not supposed to be that way, but there’s just a control that comes with maturity. Since we started doing the acoustic shows, people come up to me commenting on my singing.”
The country singer be in performance at Music City Texas in Linden on Saturday, Jan. 25, and News-Telegram readers have a chance to win two tickets, plus a pre-show dinner for two at Liefie’s li Vine in Winnsboro.
“We’re happy to offer two tickets,” said Brad Attaway of MCT. “It’s going to be a great show.”
Liefie’s was recently named “Best Restaurant in the Upper East Side of Texas” by County Line magazine. Liefie’s Phillip Strydom, was also named runner-up as Best Chef in the area.
Tritt will be alone on stage, in what he calls a “rare, solo, intimate, acoustic evening. When people leave these shows, they’ll know more about me as a person, about who my influences are and where the music came from.”
Tritt’s fans have enthusiastically reviewed the show calling it “astonishing to witness first-hand,” “personable and fun” and saying, “We hope we’re lucky enough to see the show again.”
As Northeast Texas’ premiere small venue, the 400 seat Music City Texas Theater offers an up-close and relaxed atmosphere often described by concert-goers as “like hearing a legend in your living room.”
Reserved seating tickets are $65 and are available at the door or by calling 903-756-9934. MCT Theater is located at 108 Legion St. in Linden. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
