Nov. 5 is election day and I would like to encourage each and everyone to go and vote. Remember to take your identification card.

You do not need your voter registration card because of the new law. Even though this is not a big election year there are some very important propositions to vote on. I am only going to mention Proposition 6. It is in reference to allocate money to make sure we have enough water for Texas. With the past drought years, it can eventually make sure there is water for our future generations.

The weather seems to be exciting for the next two days. Heavy rain is a coming and Hopkins County is considered the center of the extreme rain. That is to say if it continues to be slow moving. Please be careful and remember not to drive through standing water.

November 2nd is Movie Night at Brashear Baptist Church. Bring your chair and/or blanket to enjoy a fun filled night in good old Brashear. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be served. Balloon animals for the kids and popcorn for the movie. All of this will start at 6 p.m. The name of the movie is “3 Day Test.” Will move inside if it is raining.

Don’t forget Daylight Savings Time this weekend. Turn your clocks back an hour on Sunday morning. Try not too late for church.

Stew Festival was fun last weekend. We ran into Beverly Haygood and her family, Linda Almon, Sunny and Barbara Stewart, and Sid McClure. I also got to say hello to several of my ex students. It is always fun to see how they have grown up and matured.

The recognition Bill Bradford received Friday night at the Wildcat game was so deserved. He is the ultimate Wildcat Fan and has done so much for Sulphur Springs High School athletics. Thank you, Mr. Bradford, for all you have done. Thank you, Sulphur Springs, for recognizing all of his work.

New month and we are welcoming everyone who wants to work out and feel better about themselves to come join us on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. P31 Fitness is here for every one of you (women).

Just finished fall ball in Sulphur Springs with our granddaughter and it was so much fun. Thank you Chris Holt for giving our granddaughter, Sable, a positive experience.

I have nothing else to talk about so I guess I will close. Thursday evening being Halloween, be careful for the little ones out and about.
