Just a reminder that Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday! Remember to set your clock back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
The school’s fall carnival seemed to be a success last Friday night. There were quite a few people in the cafeteria eating stew and chili. I only made it out to the gym for a few minutes but it looked like a good crowd there too. I took the day off of work so that I could help make the chili, and our chief stew maker was Lewis Russell. It was nice to see a lot of the students from school that I haven’t seen in a while. I was also able to visit with a lot of my friends from school that I don’t get to see very often. A big thank you goes to FEC for donating the money to sponsor the chili this year!
County Line Church has decided to apply for a historical marker for the old County Line School that disbanded in the 1940s and consolidated with Miller Grove. If anyone has any County Line School memories please get in contact with either Gail Garmon or myself. I am working on the paperwork for the historical marker and it will have to be submitted to the state in November.
My cousin, Hunter Darrow, who is enlisted in the Marine Corps came in this weekend. And Quinten Stovall has also returned home from basic training in San Diego. Quinten will leave to go back to California this week but Hunter will be in the area for two weeks.
