Mick and Linda Petty attended the wedding of their daughter, Tara, to Mike Owens in Dallas this past weekend. They report that it was a beautiful ceremony held at Times Ten Cellars. Other family members attending were: James and Hesston Humphrey of Sulphur Springs; Reagan Humphrey of Bolivar, Mo.; Rick and Judy Petty of Tira; Amy, Mitchell and Macy Green of Cooper; and Chris, Robin and Trey Petty of Cedar Park.

Yvonne Weir reports, “It has been a great week. I got to see all my kids and grandkids, as well as my ‘Jersey Boys,’ Kiegan and Acie Shehan. We have been enjoying the pool and patio.”

We are thankful that our new great-grandson, Brailon Joslin, was able to come home on Sunday, after spending a few days in the neonatal ICU at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Some of you may remember Leo Horn Jr., son of the late Leo Sr. and Christine Horn and grandson of Maxville and Vesta Horn. He passed away on Sunday morning, after a bout with cancer, and will be buried in Quitman on Friday. Please remember his family in prayer.

North Hopkins School is hosting a Cross Country Meet on Thursday, beginning at 4 p.m., and a volleyball game against CHESS on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

I guess not much has been going on in Tira lately. I hope to have more news to report next week.
