We want to express our sympathy to the family of Remsynn Elise White, the infant daughter of Robert Lynn Jr. and Ashlie Brooke (Newman) White.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her sister, Saefrin Jade White; grandparents Bob White Sr. and Dana Jones, April Morgan and Chris; great-grandparents June Jones and Patricia McManus; great-great grandmother Irene Tanton; and numerous aunts and uncles. Her funeral was being held today (Wednesday, Sept. 4) at West Oaks Funeral Home, with burial in the Tira Cemetery. Please remember this family in your prayers.
The Tira City Council met at the Community Center on Tuesday night and discussed routine business. They also voted to cancel the November Tira City Council election, due to no opposed candidates. Floyd Payton will be sworn in to another term as Tira mayor and Joyce Dodd and Janie Lewis will serve two more years on the council.
Rick and Judy report having a great weekend. It started out with a trip to Cooper on Friday night to see the Cooper Bulldogs win. They had a big group over on Saturday, including Chris, Robin, Tyler, Trever and Trey Petty from Cedar Park; Ronnie, Amy, Mitchell and Macy Green from Cooper; Sydney Worden from Charleston; Mick and Linda Petty from Tira; and Kyle and Brittney Worden from Enloe. They cooked out Saturday night, and then on Sunday all the guys went dove hunting. Judy says, “Nothing better than having everyone home for long weekends.”
Landon Joslin and Laiken Gammill are the proud parents of another baby boy. Brailon Teague Joslin was born at 11:32 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2. He was “The Labor Day Baby!” Rylan Dee Joslin (17 months) is the big brother now.
Malcolm Joslin and his kids, Morgan, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin, went to First Monday Trade Days in Canton on Sunday, and then they went back to Canton on Monday and enjoyed the Splash Kingdom water park.
Grace and Linda Ellen Vaughn and Tiffany, Landon, Morgan, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin joined us for dinner on Saturday evening. We had smoked chicken, grilled stuffed jalapenos, sausage and the trimmings, and then we enjoyed homemade ice cream.
