BRASHEAR NEWS July 17, 2013

E-mail Print PDF

Thank the Lord for all of this good weather. The coolness and the rain have made July this year one we will remember for a long time. We had 4.5 inches of rain and our pool is full for the first time in three or four years.

Garden may come back if the grasshoppers would just move on. Do grasshoppers like the cooler wet weather? I hope not. I have noticed that they are lining the fence wires along our road. Ugh! I am tired of fighting them when I walk across the yard.

I would like everyone to say a little prayer for Sharon Moore. She is having a little bad spell and prayers could help her through this.

P31 is alive and well in Brashear. If you are a woman who would love to have an hour with a great bunch of ladies, come join us. We meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. at Brashear Baptist Church Family Life Building. We have fun and even work out some. Ha, just kidding, Shayelynn Emerick. She is our fearless leader and we love her. Stop by and see what it is all about. August will begin our regular sessions with workouts only three nights a week. Hope to see you there!

I want to let everyone know that FUMC Sulphur Springs is having its Annual Clothes Drive in August again this year. It will be on Aug. 24, in their Family Life Building. They will be accepting clothes starting Aug. 5. So if you are in the mood to clean out, save your items and bring to the church for this big sale. Every item will be only 25 cents. That's right, 25 cents. A bargain right? This could make a youngster's first day of school something special. For more information, call me at 903-612-8806.

Congratulations to the media personnel of Sulphur Springs for being recognized by the SSISD. They do such a great job of keeping everyone up to date on school news.

Another week has gone by and I often wonder how I got any work done when I work. I find myself going in circles sometimes, but I do have time to stop and read a little bit. My grandson said I read a lot. What can I say, “I love to read.”

Thanks again for all of your comments and remember if you want something mentioned in the Brashear News, just call me at 903-612-8806; email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
