We want to express our sympathy to Jimmy Lewis and his family. Jimmy's father, Troyce Lewis, of Weaver passed away on June 6. His funeral service was held on Monday at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, followed by a military graveside service under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition at the Weaver Cemetery. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Debbie Dicus reports, “Our son, Matthew Dicus, graduated from Sulphur Springs and joined the Air Force. Shirley, our daughter, and Tsinina and Anthony, our grandchildren, came down from Portales, N.M., to help celebrate with Matthew. We had most of the family at the Tira Community Center on Saturday afternoon. It was a blessed time with the family.”

Morgan and Kenden Joslin rode in the Dairy Festival parade with their dad, Malcolm Joslin, on Saturday.  Several others from the Tira Volunteer Fire Department participated, too. Tiffany and Jaidyn Joslin and I watched the parade at the beginning of the parade route, and then Jaidyn joined her dad and brothers in the parade. That evening we all (including Chip) went to White Oak and enjoyed the seafood buffet in honor of Tiffany's birthday.

Minnie Hillis Reagor would like to get the word out about the upcoming Hillis family reunion. It will be held at the Tira Community Center this weekend, June 15 and 16. The community center is located on the Tira road, about 12 miles north of Sulphur Springs on State Highway 19 (toward Cooper), then about two miles east (right) on FM 1536. Watch for the reunion banner posted at the intersection. There will be a pot luck dinner, so Minnie says, “bring your favorite foods! Also, paper plates, cups, plasticware, drinks and ice are always welcome. Bring your families, old photos/albums, cameras dominoes and games. Renew your friendships or meet the family you never knew. Help us spread the word. Any Hillis descendent from any branch is welcome.”

She also says, “Please notify me with any contact updates, and/or updates to the family tree (births, deaths, marriages, etc.). If you know of family who has not received this invitation, feel free to copy it, and give/send/or forward them a copy. We apparently do not have their contact information. Most of the correspondence is done by email these days. If you have any suggestions, updates, or would like to help out with any projects, feel free to contact me. Hope to see you there. Travel safe.” —Minnie (Hillis) Reagor, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , Att: 2013 Hillis Reunion.
