COMMERCE — Things fell into place for the Sulphur Springs soccer team as they took a 2-1 win at Commerce Friday night in District 20-4A competition.
Leo Becerra was the hero of the night for the Wildcats scoring twice. Fernando Arellano had an assist on the first goal with Jesus Arellano assisting on the second score
“We had 16 shots to their six.  We had several opportunities, but once again had trouble finishing,” said SS head boys soccer coach Andy Holt. “Our guys played well.  We did a good job of making ourselves available to receive the ball. We also did a good job of switching the field. Defense played well.  We had to make some adjustments, and some guys stepped up and got after it.  Brad Worsham came off the bench early and played well in the back for us.  We had a good night and it was good for us to win. We have Princeton at home Monday, which they tied Commerce, so we will have to play another good game to find the win. Our district is much improved and that makes each game very important.”
