Still need rain! I hope everyone is doing their best to pray for rain and soon. Our pool has dropped so much. Our neighbors, the Moore’s, are cutting hay but not sure how much more we are going to get around here if it does not rain. Garden needs rain too.

Wildflower report! Lucy wanted us to notice the Asters that are blooming with small daisies blooming too. Garand (not sure about spelling phone connection was bad) and Queen Anne lilies are prolific right now. You will also notice Giant Dandelions. These are not the ones you have in your yard.

Thank you, Marie Bramlett, for her fresh eggs. We so appreciate them.

Tom was driving around on Tuesday and saw a young bobcat on CR 1116. Be wary out there, the dry weather brings the wild animals out in search of water and food.

We have had an interesting two days. We have been herding longhorns. Thank you Glenn George for your help Tuesday. I am not sure what I could have done if the cows had decided to run the other way. We saw a full-grown longhorn bull jump a fence today. Colby was amazed the bull could jump that high.

Would like to remind everyone of what is coming up in Brashear. First, I would like to remind you of Brashear Bash coming up on May 18. Money raised during this event will go toward maintaining the Community Center. Also, on the 18, is the 3rd Walk for Jesus. The youth of Brashear Baptist and anyone else interested

will be walking or running the 5K for money to help buy fans for anyone in our community who does not have a means to keep cool this summer. So plan to come out and have a good time on the 18. The run starts at 8 a.m. and then you can come back and shop. The youth will then be having a baked potato lunch sponsored by Cumby Telephone. So a lot is happening, come on out and meet some people. We hope to have a lot of things for you to pick from. Remember to call Linda Almon or Debbie Young to save you a spot in the Family Life Center. It will be open on Friday for you to set up. Doors will open on Saturday morning around 7:00. We hope to sell some items from the Community Center that people have donated in the past. You can find these items on a trailer on the outside of the Family Life Center. I, Debbie Young, will be out there to help you in shopping. Can’t wait.

Also, if you would like to have a garage sale on that day, let me know. We will be glad to hand out directions to your garage sale and publicize it at the Bash. I know that Tom and I will be having a Garage Sale at County Road 1119.

I would like to say how great a time we are having with P31 at the Brashear Baptist Church. We have had approximately 20 women there exercising. It has been a lot of fun. I guess the pain will come. You know everyone is welcome to come out and exercise. If you would like more information, look up P31fitness.com on the internet. It can help answer all your questions and more. You can find out there is more to it that just sweating. Hope to see more of you there real soon.

News is slim this week.
