Wonderful weather we are having. I watch the weather closely and found out on weather.com that we will have some more cold weather for February, but after that not so much. They
even went so far to say that March and April may be a little warmer than normal. This does not seem good for the drought-ridden counties in Texas. Pray for more moisture of any kind to fall real soon.
Glad to hear that several of my friends are feeling a little better. I hope the flu has not hit you and yours. My sympathies to Jo Anne Potter and her family on the loss of her mother last week.
We have been filling our bird feeders this past week and the cardinals here at our house are sure fat. They push all the other birds off the feeders. Fun to watch.
I hope everyone had a chance to observe the sky last night. The moon was exceptionally bright and Jupiter was showing up right beside it. The nights have been unusually bright and clear lately.
We happened up on a deer the other night on the north side of the overpass over Interstate 30. It was particularly scary because he was almost on the road and there was nowhere for him to go.
Garden update. Three weeks, onions and potatoes need to be in the ground by Feb. 14. This is a family tradition for the Young family. Also saw a helpful tip on Pinterest this week, start seedlings in toilet paper rolls with dirt and seed. When the plant has reached desired size, take the toilet paper roll and seedling then plant it in the ground. The toilet paper roll will disintegrate with time.
I noticed as I was preparing this article that Pinterest was highlighted like it was misspelled. Well, if you have not checked out Pinterest, I want to introduce you to a great Website. I call it my filter for getting rid of garbage. It lists great sites others have pinned so I do not have to do the looking. Check it out. It has every topic under the sun. I have found new crafts, patterns for my grandchildren, games, “honey dos” for Tom and countless other projects. Good luck. Not just for women either.
I hope this finds everyone ready to get healthy. I noticed that the First Baptist Church was having a health fair Jan. 29, so please take advantage of this. It will be in their new building, the ROC. There will be door prizes and lunch will be served for $7. Call to find out more details.
Just read that the Dinner Bell is almost a year old and has fed over 5,000 people. What a great thing here in Sulphur Springs. Take time if you need a hot meal and stop by the First United Methodist Church on noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
My youngest granddaughter turns two on Thursday, so a happy birthday to Landrii Paige Wade.
