National Day of the American Cowboy Crock Pot Chili Contest This Friday!
Bring out your best pot of chili and enter the National Day of the American Cowboy Crock pot Chili Contest. It’s only $10 to enter, with the grand prize of $250. Don’t want to cook dinner on Friday night? Go to the Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. and have a yummy bowl or two of chili for only $5. For more information, contact Enola Gay Mathews at 903-438-3568.

High School Leadership Class Education Day – February 4th
A reminder to High School Leadership Class students: Don’t forget that we will meet at the bus entrance at Sulphur Springs High School at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, for our “Day of Education.” Oh, and make sure to wear your Leadership shirts!

Sulphur Springs Boys Baseball Sign-ups: January 31st-Feb. 28th
If your son is between the ages of 5 and 14 as of May 1, stop by Fieldhouse Sports and sign them up for spring youth baseball. This year will have many new and exciting opportunities, including an equipment swap and scholarships, so don’t miss out!

Boot Scootin’ for Kids
The Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center will be presenting “Boot Scootin’ for Kids” on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Civic Center. Dinner will be served from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and the entertainment will begin at 7:30. This will be a great opportunity to kick up your heels for a good cause. All ticket proceeds go directly to the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center in Winnsboro, which serves abused and troubled children in Hopkins County and other Northeast Texas areas. Ribbon Cutting at AgriLife Extension Service

Wow! Congratulations go out to theAgriLife Extension Service on a fabulous grand opening of their new office! If you didn’t get a chance to visit their new location at 1200 Houston St. (which used to be the Chamber’s home) for their grand opening, stop by sometime ... the building looks FANTASTIC!
