Spring break! The weather is fantastic. Still very wet, but no complaint here for the garden is really sprouting. Tom says everything is up but potatoes. I have been digging in the flower beds with a lot of water in the bottom of the hole.

Had a visitor yesterday — Red George stopped by and helped Tom work on a lawn mower. He might have helped fix one of our tractors. Thank you Red. You are welcome to stop by any time.

Grandkids came out to fish a little while. Loved it. Rorie may have caught the first bass out of our front pool. She was so excited, even when it dropped off the line as they pulled it in. Too funny! Why is it that for children and some adults, it still counts as a big one even if you did not get it on land?

I want to give another push for Sharon's Grub Wagon. My son said that he and several coaches had tried the barbecue and loved it. I cannot wait to try some soon. I love to drive by their house and roll down the window and get a good whiff.

I have also been asked not to put some birthdays in the paper because someone had a bunch of bad luck last week. Sorry about the bad luck!

Carolyn Vaughan wanted me to let everyone know that the Brashear Baptist Youth have a fundraiser for summer camp on March 31, 2012. Be watching for more details coming.

I want to welcome Kim Stroh, who is visiting her parents, Glen and Mary. Hope the weather is better than what you left back in Oregon. Hope to see you during your visit.

I would like to mention that our new worship experience on Saturday night was great. The music was provided by Renee Francey and it was spectacular. We had 22 people there and are looking for more on March 24. So if you are unable to worship on Sunday because of work or other commitments, try us out at Hope Community Christian Fellowship at 110 Glover St. in Sulphur Springs.

Thanks so much for all of your comments and for mentioning that you read my article. I am humbled by all of the nice things you are saying. Please call me at 903-612-8806; e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ; or come on by our home on CR 1119 for a visit. Also, I have begun my walking again around the block. Please note that my block is 4 miles in distance. Please wave. I would love to have anyone join me. I usually walk around 1 p.m. or 2 p.m.
