Dallas percussionist Drew Lang will appear with Mark Miller, on violin, and Ute Miller, on viola, in the Hopkins County Courthouse, on Monday, Feb. 27, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The three accomplished musicians will explore the world of electronic effects, as familiar sounds get a makeover.
The event is open to the public and will be in the District Courtroom on the second floor of the courthouse at 7:30 p.m. That venue has proven to have exceptional sound quality for such performances, and County Judge Chris Brown has once again made the room available.
Student admission is free for all grades, including college and university students, and adult admission is $10 each. (Students age12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.) Tickets are available at the door. At intermission, free refreshments will be provided by Symphony League board members.
Mark and Ute Miller, husband and wife who perform professionally as Duo Renard, are well known to Hopkins County audiences, having appeared in numerous courthouse concerts and other musical events sponsored by the Symphony League. All three professional musicians perform with a variety of other ensembles and orchestras. Mark performs with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Ute performs with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Drew performs with the Dallas Opera Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
