2012 — what does that mean for Brashear? A wonderful renovated Community Center, thanks to all of you who helped make that possible; a wonderful giving Baptist Church in our community; and wonderful people.
2011 gave us a lot of struggles, topped by the heat and drought. We are hoping that 2012 will right all of those wrongs. Pray for more rain; pray for less heat; and pray for all of those who are unemployed and having a hard time.
Well, I guess I will get off my soapbox for a while.
I want to send condolences to the family of F.C. 'Butch' Hargrave. Memorials may be made to the Brashear Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 126, Brashear, TX 75420; or McFall Cemetery Association, c/o Gary and Sara Stevens, 4405 CR 3567, Dike, TX 75437.
Has anyone else noticed that our water is not clear? I hope the problems work themselves out real soon. My tea is cloudy and I wonder if my drinking water is OK.
There are several empty houses around lately and I am wondering if anyone knows who owns them. For instance, the yellow one on the end of CR 1115 before the curve — who owns that house? I would love to see some of these houses occupied. I know there are some people who could use some place to live.
How about the empty stores uptown? Is there anyone that can let me know who owns the one where the quilt store used to be? I have had some inquiries on some of the contents. People who are interested in purchasing some of the items have asked about how to go about this.
I am going to try this year to be a better correspondent on what is going on in our little part of the world. Please let me know if you have family who comes to visit, if you have illnesses that you would like prayers for, just a little word to let others know that you would like help in some way. Have you seen the TV commercial about seeing someone help others and it continues on, paying it forward? A devotional this morning stated that there are a lot of problems in the world but with LOVE all things can be made better. So as your New Year's resolution, remember love, just a simple smile, a wave, a pat on the back, a call. Give the world a chance. Love your neighbor.
