Floyd and Martha Payton attended the annual Fire Department Retiree Luncheon at the Police and Fire Training Center in Fort Worth on Saturday. Martha says, “We visited with old friends and enjoyed a nice lunch together.”
The Paytons report, “The Tira Methodist Church will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at the church on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 6:30 p.m. We invite everyone to attend. It is always an inspirational service.”
They also want to say “thank you” to everyone who donated canned goods to the Meal-A-Day program. Floyd was planning to deliver them to on Monday. Floyd and Martha also say, “Merry Christmas to all.”
Brandi Day, Aysha, Chanse Fite, Daylee, and Powell Vickery attended the Christmas party at the community center. Daylee would not have her picture made with Santa Claus, but said she was not worried about telling him what she wanted for Christmas. Sherry Smiddy has returned home from working 13 days at the University of Chicago.
Linda Andrasko came to visit her sister, Sandra Wester, Sunday afternoon, and they went to Paris on Monday. Linda treated Sandra to lunch at Chili's for her birthday, and then they did some Christmas shopping before returning to Tira. Linda returned to Henderson Tuesday morning.
Students at North Hopkins School will be presenting a Christmas program on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Grace Vaughn visited with us on Sunday and attended a birthday party for Jackson Vaughn that afternoon. Jackson is the son of Jason and Patty Vaughn. Grace also attended the Christmas musical at First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs with us that night.
Chip and I attended the Richland Resources Christmas Party at the Petroleum Club in the Carter-Burgess Plaza in downtown Fort Worth on Tuesday night. We enjoyed a delicious meal, visiting with Chip's co-workers and their spouses, and fun and games.
