Our sincere condolences to Billy Jack Romack's family on their loss. It seems that Brashear is having a lot of losses lately. Let's pray for all of the families and their loved ones.
I got a call this past weekend from Brenda Dodd. She was Brenda Petty when she lived in Brashear. She wanted to let everyone know that she and her husband, Jerry Dodd, had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Their children hosted a party for them in Emory, and several friends as well as relatives showed up to wish them a happy anniversary. Thanks for calling., Brenda!
Dec. 3 is fast approaching, and now is the time for the men and women of Brashear to be choosing teams. There is a stew cook-off between the men and the women planned for that day. We would like two teams to square off and make stew and then everyone at the Game Night at the Community Center will vote for the best. Santa Claus will be there, and there will be an opportunity for you to have your picture made with Santa or for your family Christmas cards. Stay tuned for more information about what else is scheduled for the night of Dec. 3. Don't forget.
Looks like not many people decided to vote in Brashear Tuesday. Thanks to the ladies for helping the process work.
There are many opportunities to recognize and honor the veterans in our area. Thank a veteran or military personnel for all they do. Nov. 11, 2011, is Veterans Day, a very special day; please take a moment to say a prayer for our heroes.
