North Hopkins staff members returned to work yesterday and were treated to a delicious lunch at Peerless Baptist Church. The church also made school supplies available for the teachers to take for use in their classrooms. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated! Students return for classes on Monday, August 22.
Casey Durst took his wife, Tiffany, to a Texas Rangers baseball game in Arlington in celebration of their 6th anniversary. Tiffany says, “It was amazing!”
Sandra Wester enjoyed breakfast and visiting with Jimmy and Barbara Anderson and Charles Murray at the Red Barn Cafe in Sulphur Springs on Friday. That night she met Katina Shelton and Thomas Sherwood at The Fish Place in Pecan Gap. They enjoyed the good food and visiting. Sandra's sister, Linda Andrasko, came to visit her Sunday afternoon. They went to Garland Sunday evening to visit another sister, Peggy Deaton. Peggy had cooked a delicious meal and they enjoyed the visit with her. They returned to Tira Monday afternoon.
Mary Helen Foster and her daughter and grandchildren Dana, Caden, Caitlyn, and Janie and Von Prahl brought lunch and visited with Helen Weir on Saturday.
Joyce Dodd says, “I would like to give kudos to the Tira Volunteer Fire Department for getting out in this heat to fight fires!”
Malcolm and Tiffany Joslin celebrated their 20th anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas. They flew out of D-FW on Sunday, Aug. 7, and returned on Wednesday, Aug. 10. They spent one night at home, and then they and the kids went to The Villages Resort on Lake Palestine, where they enjoyed the indoor water park and other resort amenities. They went to the Discovery Science Place in Tyler on Saturday, and then enjoyed a wonderful meal at Mercado's Mexican Restaurant before returning home that afternoon.
