Last weekend Tiffany, Casey, Joseph and Donna Durst enjoyed a trip to Athens. Tiffany says that they “got to see Granny, Juli, Lange and their two wonderful kids. We all had a great visit.” After they got back, Tiffany reports that her “generous husband” bought her a beautiful black Ford Expedition. Tiffany is so grateful and says she feels like a queen driving her new SUV. Micah Walker, son of Kevin and Dee Melton and recent graduate from the Texas Tech master’s program, has been appointed by AgriLife Extension as the County Extension Agent for 4-H and Youth Services in Gillespie County.
Sandra Wester met Carolyn Miller for lunch on Monday at Dodie's Cajun Seafood Diner on Lake Ray Hubbard. They enjoyed their visit. Afterward, Sandra went to Wylie to tour the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center. They rescue and provide for tigers, lions, leopards, servals, cougars and bobcats. Visitors are only allowed to tour on weekends, but Sandra got a private tour from an old friend who volunteers and is on the board. Sandra reports that they have some beautiful animals they have rescued and returned to good health.
Robert and Yvonne Weir enjoyed a trip to Canton for First Monday Trade Days last Sunday. They picked up Alice Hall, Yvonne’s mom, on the way home, and she spent the night with them. On Tuesday, Yvonne got to enjoy her grandkids in Royse City, while their parents worked. Kiegan and Acie Shehan visited the Weirs on Thursday evening.
Tommy and Carolyn Long returned Monday from a four-day cruise to Cozumel, and then on to Playa del Carmen, to attend the wedding of Amy Long and Evan Huston of Austin. Amy is the daughter of Frank and Juli Long of Sulphur Springs. Tommy reports that about 30 people were there, including the wedding party, family and friends. They spent Wednesday night visiting with John before they left on the cruise.
