Sure, I'd run Hamilton

I might be in the minority, but I really don't care.

I see no controversy in the Josh Hamilton getting hurt at home plate vs. Detroit. He's on the base, the coach thinks he can make it. Run, Josh, run.

The Rangers ended up losing to Detroit but run, the coach thought Josh was fast enough to "steal" a run while the pitcher was napping and not covering home. So did it.

I coached first base many years in youth baseball, sure I got  a few kids tagged out. Because I was always was trying to get the extra base, which could be the extra run.

Some say that Josh is a multi-million dollar athlete and should not used like that. Others say that it is too early in the season to be doing it.

Hogwash.

Every game you can "steal" in April, you don't have to worry about in September. They all count the same!

Josh is very aggressive and hurts himself running into walls and diving, you can't take that away from him. You can't protect a player with his mentality from getting injured.

My only criticism is going headfirst into home plate. Never did it or teach it.More often than not you get a mouth full of shin guard.

But if I was coaching third, I would have sent him too. So now the Rangers have to do without his big bat for 6-8 weeks.

The clinched the pennant with him hurt last year. If they are really a good "team" they will find a way to regroup.
