Adult Leadership Project: A new walking track on the south side of Buford Park
The Hopkins County Adult Leadership Class has announced that their class project will be to put in a walking track on the south side of Buford Park.
The walking track will add an approximate 1/3 mile to the existing track at Buford Park. Not only will the track be a great, shaded place to walk, but the class is selling beautiful 12-inch by 12-inch granite tiles that will be placed every 15 feet around the entire track. The tiles can have a family’s name or a business name on them, and they will be place in the concrete to live on in the park for years to come. The cost to purchase a tile is $300, or if you want a logo on it, it will be $340. There are a limited number of tiles available, so get yours NOW! If you would like more information, please call Cody Stewart at Eternity Creations at 903-438-1313.
Are our legislators taking care of Hopkins County?
I am certain they are, but if you would like to make an impact in Austin on behalf of Hopkins County, then make plans to travel to Austin for Hopkins County Day. We will be visiting with all of the important folks in Austin that are making decisions on our behalf. We will be spending March 29 in Austin. If you are interested in attending, please call the Chamber at 903-885-6515. We are looking for business leaders who want to make an impact in Austin to assure that the bills that will help Hopkins County are being focused on. It is very important that our representatives know what we believe is important for our county.

“Questions Asked at the Chamber ... Really!”
A lady called the Chamber and said, ”Ma’am, I am trying to figure out what to give my sister and brother-in-law for their 65th wedding anniversary ... can you help me with that?” I asked her what they liked to do and after about 30 minutes, we decided that a beautiful bird house would be a wonderful gift for them to enjoy since they like to sit on the porch and watch birds.
That’s all for now…have a GREAT week!
