When I started writing the Brashear News, I never realized how hard it was to get information. So I would just like to send a plea out

to anyone that has a birthday, anniversary or just wants to let everyone know some good news.

To begin the New Year, I have decided to call a few people in Brashear and see what is new in their neck of the woods. Last night I called Elton and Louise Stewart, they were doing well and I want to wish Elton a Happy Birthday on the 16th of January.

Next, I called Carolyn George and got caught up on 4-H News. She told me that on Saturday they are having a Food Show at the new Extension Office on Houston Street. It will be at 2 p.m. and there will be 4 from Miller Grove participating: Aleigh and Jorja Bassonett, and Candyce and Grant Earp. We want to wish them good luck. Also there will be a Clothing Fun Day on Jan. 31 that will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will also be held in their new offices. Carolyn said that the new offices were nice and roomy.

Next I called Pat Higginbotham and she said that she was doing well. She wanted to ask all of us to pray for Mary Jo Rogers, she has not been feeling well. So Mary Jo, we want to send up a special prayer request for you.

I next called Linda Almon and visited with her. I had just found out that my mother had worked with Linda’s in-laws. Also, my husband wanted to ask about their turnip patch. He loves turnips and Linda said just stop by and dig some up.

I want you all to remember to just CALL ME!!! 903.612.8806; e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or just stop by and visit. I love to talk and visit. I have learned so much about Brashear and family members. I want to thank all of you who contribute each week. Be prepared your name and number might be the one I call next week. Until next week, take care and remember how blessed we are.
