J.R., Donna, Casey, Tiffany and Joseph Durst all went to Finley, Okla., on Saturday to help Cooper Kitchens celebrate his second birthday. They all enjoyed playing in the snow on Monday, an unexpected day off from work.
Tommy and Patti Wiebold had guests from Dallas over the weekend. Charlie and Lynda Wilson arrived early on Saturday in their motor home. Megann Findley, their niece, also came over Saturday afternoon for a surprise visit. Sandra Wester joined them on Saturday night, and Tommy cooked hamburgers out on the grill. They all had a nice visit. On Sunday, Megann returned home to Waxahachie trying to beat the bad weather. Tommy, Patti, Charlie and Lynda went to church, and upon leaving were greeted with a beautiful blanket of snow outside. On Sunday afternoon they all stayed inside by the fireplace and watched a lot of football. Charlie and Lynda were planning to leave on Monday, but the roads kept them at the Wiebold’s. Patti and Tommy both had to stay home from work. The trip to Dallas was too far for Patti to drive, and Tommy's shop was closed in Canton. Patti comments, “Although the weather was cold, it was nice to see some beautiful snow.” Tommy, Patti, and their Labs enjoyed the day off on Monday playing out in the snow building “Snowmen and Snow kids.” They have been enjoying watching the cardinals on their feeders, but they are “ready for the white to go away now, and some much-needed sunshine and a little warmer weather,”
Robert, Yvonne and Wesley Weir of Tira and Dustin and Natalie Weir of Dallas spent a few days vacationing together. They spent some time in Luckenbach and Fredericksburg, before traveling to San Antonio. They had a good time sightseeing and eating out but were disappointed to find out that the river had been drained for cleaning.
Yvonne Weir and I met Brenda Allen of Yantis for lunch at the Pioneer Cafe in Sulphur Springs last Wednesday. We were celebrating Christmas a little late.
We picked up Grace, Chip’s mother, after attending church on Sunday morning, and she stayed with us until Monday afternoon. We enjoyed watching the birds that Chip has been feeding, and, of course, Grace and I got in a few games of Scrabble.
