All the purple Frogs in Fort Worth are still hoping area, pretty happy over the TCU win in the Rose Bowl.
I still am glad the No. 3 Frogs edged the No.5 Wisconsin Badgers 21-19 in the "granddaddy of them all" the Rose Bowl
in Pasadena, Calif. on New Year's Day.
Gary Patterson and his team won the class, defense and just enough points. Patterson had joked that he justed wanted to win by one point,
well, he won by two and that was cutting it pretty close. I think TCU is very lucky that the Wisconsin team did not keep running the ball up the middle of the field
behind their huge line. I would have. It seemed like Wisconsin wanted to try toss sweeps and play action passes instead of just sticking to what was working.
TCU, led by the red-headed wonder, QB Andy Dalton has his gang, scored enough points to win. The TCU Defense got better as the game went on. The result a Rose Bowl win.
TCU is 13-0 and I think one of the best programs in the nation.
I was wondering if any of the "church schools" from the old SWC would get a win. Baylor, SMU had lost. Baylor seemed a little overwhelmed and make too many mistakes, SMU waited too late to get in gear and they were betrayed by a poor kicker. As many teams are when the pressure is on.
Speaking of old SWC schools, Texas Tech won 45-38 over Northwestern. Texas A&M and Arkansas are still yet to play. The Aggies play Friday in the Cotton Bowl game, now set in Jerry's World also known as Cowboys' Stadium. The Hogs play Tuesday in the Sugar Bowl against THE Ohio State University.
Maybe they can come back with a win or two.
