The Tira Methodist Church will be holding a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Martha Payton says, “Everyone is invited to attend; you will receive a blessing.”
Joyce Dodd reports that her great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Gavin Shelton, were honored with a joint birthday party on Sunday afternoon. Alyssa, 7, and Gavin, 6, have birthdays within a few days of each other. Joyce says that “quite a few” friends and family were there to help them celebrate.
Chip Vaughn went bird hunting, along with several co-workers, at Greystone Castle in Mingus, Texas, on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, Chip and I and Morgan and Kenden Joslin went to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Christmas Party at the Mount Vernon Airport. After the party we stopped by to visit Bernice Markovic. Bernice is the niece of the late Mary Nell (Mince, Henry) Jennings.
Tommy and Patti Wiebold traveled to Mesquite on Saturday for the Miller family Christmas. They celebrated at the home of Patti's younger brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Carolyn Miller. Tommy and Patti's daughter Kristie attended, along with Barry and Carolyn Miller; their daughter, Cassi, and son-in-law, Matt Clayton; Patti's mother, Sue Miller Peeters and her husband, Jeff; Suzan Miller; and Patti's nephew and his wife, Chris and Brittany Evans. They had lunch catered in from Johnny Carino's Italian restaurant, and enjoyed exchanging gifts. Tommy and Patti returned home Saturday afternoon and her niece Cassie, and her husband, Matt, came to spend the night with them. Matt and Cassie returned to Mesquite on Sunday. Tommy and Patti would like to wish each and every one a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year — and so would I!
