Turn on any country music radio or television station these days, and you’ll hear Georgia native Jason Aldean rocking out. The boy from Macon is doing all right – but things haven’t always gone Aldean’s way.
In the early part of his career, Aldean couldn’t find a record label or an agent.
“It’s hard when this is what you’ve worked for all your life, and you can’t catch a break” Aldean told the News-Telegram in February of 2009. “I don’t take ‘no’ for an answer. My mom calls it being hard-headed.”
His work ethic has paid off. His four CDs have generated 11 singles on the Billboard charts. At the 2010 Country Music Association Awards, he teamed with American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson for a powerful duet of “Don’t You Want to Stay.”
While he doesn’t plumb any new musical depths, Aldean keeps the hits coming on “My Kinda Party.” If you’re looking for a good time, this CD should fill the bill. Its songs are destined to become stadium standards.
