The Grammy nominations were announced last night and some of the artists we've reviewed and/or interviewed are on the list.

Darrell Scott is up for Best Country Instrumental Performance for his song, "Willow Creek," on his new 2-CD release, "A Crooked Road." We interviewd Scott last year for our singer/songwriter series. Look for a review of the new CD in an upcoming edition of your News-Telegram.

Dierks Bentley's "Up on the Ridge" is up for Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals with Miranda Lambert and Jamey Johnson for the cover they did of Verlon Thompson's "Bad Angel." We reviewed the CD in July. Check an upcoming edition of your News-Telegram for an interview with Thompson.

Guy Clark, the Texas legend, received a nomination as Best Contemporary Folk Album for "Somedays the Song Writes You." Kenny Chesney just released "Hemingway's Whiskey," a cover of Clark's song from the nominated CD. We've run several stories on Clark, who is probably one of the most respected songwriters in the music industry.

Willie Nelson's "Country Music" got a nod for Best Americana Album. We reviewed his CD in October.
