Early voting ends Friday evening

Early voting has been going on daily at the public library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but will end Friday, Oct. 29.

Rollin ‘N’ Car Wash under new ownership

Rollin "N" Car Wash is now owned and operated by Guy and Amber Norris. The car wash is located at 410 Bill Bradford Road in front of the VF Outlet Mall. Since the Norris’ took over, they say they have replaced all of the equipment, increased the quality of products used, increased the water temperature to 130 degrees and given the entire car wash a facelift. 5th Annual Heritage Square Car Show this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the downtown square

The SS Downtown Business Alliance will present their 5th Annual Heritage Square Car Show this Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by and check out all of the amazing 1987 and older cars AND take a stroll down Main Street and see all of the Corvettes! Ribbon Cutting for Tully Insurance on Friday, Oct. 29

Please stop by for hot dogs as we celebrate the new location of Tully Insurance at 109 Jefferson St.! The ribbon cutting will be on Friday, Oct. 29, at noon.

2nd Annual Fall Carnival at SSHS Saturday, Oct. 30, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Help support the SSHS senior class and give your children a safe place to play and get candy. The carnival is for all children up to 5th grade. They will have face painting, bounce houses, concession stands, and game booths with candy and prizes. The cost is only $5, which includes 20 tickets.

Ribbon Cutting for Rehkopf’s Family Food Store at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 3

We are so happy to welcome Rehkopf’s (pronounced RE-kofs) Family Food Store to Sulphur Springs and the Chamber of Commerce. They are located at 445 Main Street and would like for you to join us for their ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at noon!

Friends of the Sulphur Springs Public Library present Arbala native and author Mary Cimarolli on Nov. 4

Mary Cimarolli, author of “The Bootlegger’s Other Daughter” and “Man of Grace: A Remembrance of Paul Wells Barrus” will be at the Sulphur Springs Public Library, 611 North Davis St. from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4. Groundbreaking for the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial will be on Veterans Day

The time has come to break ground for the long-awaited Veteran’s Memorial that will honor the veterans of Hopkins County. The activities, which are being held, appropriately enough, on Veterans Day, will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the square. The SSHS Band will perform patriotic selections, the colors will be raised and the band will play the National Anthem. Then, a vintage World War II C-47 aircraft will perform a flyover. At that time, the ceremony of breaking the ground and honoring our veterans will commence.
Also, all veterans and their spouses are invited to the Wal Mart annual appreciation dinner on the evening of Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Activities Center. Call Wal Mart to make your reservation by noon on Nov. 10.

Noted economist Ray Perryman will be speaking at the Civic Center Dec. 1

Please mark your calendars to hear noted economist Dr. Ray Perryman from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1. Perryman will discuss the economic outlook for Northast Texas. For more information, please call the Chamber at 903-885-6515!
