Last week’s political forum airing tonight at 7 on KSST Channel 18

In case you didn’t get to attend the Chamber of Commerce’s political forum last week, KSST will be airing it on Channel 18 at 7 p.m. tonight!

Please take the opportunity to hear what the candidates have to say about the issues that are important in Hopkins County. Also, don’t forget — early voting begins Monday, Oct. 18, and runs through Oct. 29 at the Sulphur Springs Public Library and the election will be November 2nd! So remember to get out and VOTE!

Alzheimer’s Walk set for Oct. 21

Mark your calendars for the Alzheimer’s Walk, “A Walk to Remember,” Thursday, Oct. 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gardens at Memorial. Proceeds benefit the Terrific Tuesdays, the respite program for those with dementia-related condictions and the people wo care for them, and the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

Noted economist Ray Perryman will be speaking at the Civic Center Dec. 1

United Way Cookout is Friday, Oct. 22

Show your support for United Way AND have a yummy hamburger lunch — all for just $5! Alliance Bank, City National Bank and Guaranty Bond Bank will be cooking up burgers and all the fixin’s for just $5, Friday Oct. 22 from 11-2. The cookout, an annual cooperative effort by the banks, will be in the parking lot behind the Alliance Bank corporate offices and FUMC just off Atkins Street. All proceeds go to Hopkins County United Way.
