I discovered Al Jarreau's amazing talent in the early 1980s when he released the title song to the TV series "Moonlighting." If you've never heard his unique song stylings, here's a video of his first hit.

He followed "Moonlighting" with "Mornin'." Here's a video of a live performance.

And here's a great live cover of "Since I Fell For You"

For 35 years, Jarreau has been a high grossing touring artist on the jazz circuits ...

I've recently been in contact with the singer's management and planned to interview him in the fall, after his return from an European tour. Then, he fell suddenly fell quite ill.

Here's wishing him a speedy covery ....

(CNN) -- Al Jarreau underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart arrhythmia that interrupted his European concert tour last week, his spokesman said Wednesday.

Doctors performed a catheter ablation on the 70-year-old singer at a cardiac center in Marseille, France, Monday, according to a statement from Joe Gordon.

"The procedure went just as the doctors hoped and expected," Gordon said. "He moved out of the intensive care unit later that day."

Jarreau was hospitalized on July 22 after becoming "weak from the altitude" in the French Alps, the spokesman explained.

The singer is preparing to resume his tour in Hanau, Germany, next Tuesday, Gordon said.

"He has been working hard to recover and prepare himself for his return to work," he added.
