STG, this is not an attack on you, just my opinion.
The crew of the Steve Irwin lost me when they illegally boarded the Japanese vessel. Well actually they never had me. Then you have the intentional ramming of vessels. Throwing the "prop fouler," which I am pretty sure is illegal in most countries. That is intentional destruction, or in their case attempted destruction.
I agree with Sash, if it's ok to kill them for "research," how do you justify the waste of the edible meat? I also know that the "research" is really just crap, they aren't doing any research, they're fishing, under the guise of research.
Everybody has their thing they fight for, I don't agree with the Sea Shepherds tactics, but hey, they got a lot of nerve and they are dedicated. To me, the Japanese are on the defense, well they were until tonight. The LRAD is a non-lethal weapon, but I don't agree with them using it on a heli. Hey at least they don't have BlackWater USA on board.
Seems like the Japanese are using some of the Shepherds tactics on them, of course they say that's wrong.
By the way you left out Faroe Islands, Iceland, Canada, Greenland, Indonesia, Russia, and the United States on the list of countries that currently hunt whales.
