Perhaps you should get your paper on line. That way the paper isn't missing and you save money as well. Also, you can go back and look at back issues. It also keeps from "paper build up" (especially since we don't have any readily available recycling). I love it!!
I don't always want to play on the computer, and I actually enjoy sitting in my easy chair and physically reading the paper. I am one of those people who still write an occasional paper check for something and even enjoy going into the bank once in a while instead of using the ATM (bandit) machine outside, that clipped me for $400.00 one day! Call me getting old fashioned if you like, but I actually feel sorry for all the younger folks who absolutely cannot function without a computer, cell phone stuck in their ear, i-Pod, etc. They have complete tunnel vision and miss so much in life going on around them. I retired from a pressurized job in a major city after years of living on call 24 X 7 with all the electronic trappings at my fingertips. I now enjoy living out in the county with nature. If I want some noise, I'll start the tractor. And, if they can't deliver the paper daily within a timely manner after publication, (it's not rocket science folks), then they can keep it. Perhaps I'll subscribe to the Rains County paper. It's only published once a week, but has twenty times the information the News Telegram has...... Example: Has everyone heard about the new AG/Timber Number that will be required Jan. 1 of 2012 and must be used by everyone to claim an exemption from Texas sales and use tax on the purchase of qualifying items used in the production of agricultural and timber products for sale? Without it, you'll no longer just be able to just say "Farm Use" at time of purchase and get a tax exemption. You'll have to show your new Registration Number from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, or you'll no longer be able to purchase tax exempt products for farm use. Call 800-252-5555, or 512-463-4600 for additional information and/or the 3 page application form.
