Painful season to be a Cowboy fan (but better than being a Ram, Buc, Raider, Bill, Chief or Brown fan -- wow, there are some BAD teams in the NFL this season).

I haven't liked the Cowboys since Jerry Jones bought them. Then he builds a huge stadium kicking people out of their homes. PLease, focus on a winning team and it isn't Romo's fault, look at his stats. The receivers need to learn to catch.

I like watching Payton and Brady. They are awesome quarterbacks. Favre is exciting also. He makes me laugh.

True story.

My sister, mother and I were in an elevator at a Dallas movie theater with a very elegant looking woman. My sister, who lives in the city, kept looking at the woman.

Finally, she said, "I'm sorry to stare, but you look just like Alicia Landry."

The woman replied, "I do?"

"Yes, ma'm, you do."

"Well, maybe it's because I am."

At which point, my mother pointed to me and said, "My daughter is still mad at Jerry Jones for firing Coach Landry. She calls him 'that hillbilly from Arkansas.' She won't be in the same room if the TV is on a Cowboys' game."

To which Mrs. Landry slowly replied - "Neither will I."

I grew up watching Tom Landry. He was not perfect, but he certainly deserved better than what Jones dished out. I believe coach would have retired the next year, ridden off into the sunset amid a flurry of feel-good tributes and there would have been no hard feelings.

But, no.

That idiot with the bad rug and the plastic surgery-pulled-tighter-than-a-full-tick-face had to have it his way ... I know there are legions of Cowboys fans who couldn't care less, but I also know there are still a lot of people of my generation who remember what Jones did.

I agree with you. football use to be about respect and supporting your team(football players). You knew who the players were and could cheer them on, now every year there is someone new on the team. It isn't always about winning, it is supporting your team no matter what (look at the Browns fans). But Jerry (I love how you described him AJ) sees $$$$$, he could care less about the game. My dad has always been a Cowboy fan we had to watch the cowboys every weekend. He still cheers them on and loves to give me a hard time because I refuse to cheer them on.

Landry was an icon...Jones is a chump...a rich chump, but still a chump.

Can anyone say "New Coaching Staff"?
