Election is past, here come the Holidays! 7 Months ago Karma: 16
So we all got have our voices heard (whether they listened or not is a separate story and issue altogether) and now we're flying into the Holidays with Thanksgiving next week.

This year's been a whopper for me with everything. I've been pretty busy. I'm hoping I can take a bit of a breather a few days off around Thanksgiving and Christmas and relax and enjoy the family.

Christmas shopping is done, except for a few small items. I'm setting up the Christmas trees and other decorations with massive instructions (someone in my house has had a "vision" that must come to fruition!) (or else) and getting ready for the parties.

How about y'all? What's on your plates coming up? Besides eating! LOL....and I do plan on doing some of that, for sure!

You've got your Christmas shopping done? I'm impressed! I haven't even started yet!

I am starting my outside decorations today! Gonna take off a little early, then spend this evening and probably most of Sunday outside doing my best "Griswald" imitation! I won't turn them on till after T-Day, but the sky will be lit the next night!!!

Griswald-ing the house, too. I'm already afraid of the electric bill.

had to get the shopping done - now the house is more of a "warehouse" filled with boxes of "goodies" for all the kids in the family. LOL. but that's what it's all about, isn't it? getting a big fat stupid grin from the sqeeeeeeeallllls from the kiddos when they open stuff.

i've threatened a couple times now to buy two of the boys a set of drums each.........keeping in mind everyone in my family is comepletely and utterly tone deaf AND have zero rhythm....LOL.

they're gonna hate me one of these days, but the kids will LOVE me!

Well, let's see.

I am going to my oldest son's house for Thanksgiving. My daughter-in-law is a gourmet cook, so everything will be delicious!

The decorations and tree will go up the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

And I've just started Christmas shopping.

Unfortunately didn't get all the yard done -- well, I did until the wife didn't like my handiwork, so I had to take some of it down! LOL Oh well ... just means I'll be busy this week!!

How many around here have their tree up yet?? Mine's still in the box -- but it is coming out soon!

got the lights on the house up - just have to put out the lights on the bushes and in the trees in the yard. oh yea, and those darn lit deer, too. it's a wonder someone hasn't gone deer hunting in my front year....LOL.

have 2 of the trees up and lit but not decorated. have 2 more trees to go. and the rest of the decorations - i don't have a hand in putting up or out. thank goodness.

all this has to be done prior to Thanksgiving because after Thanksgivng then the schedule tightens up and everything gets crazy. this year, there's 2 parties at the house, plus a couple we're going to. nutsnutsnuts.
never mind all the church stuff and family stuff. LOL.

*in my best Daffy Duck voice* You're despicable!

I have not even thought about what to get anybody, let alone begin shopping. The lights are in a box, someplace, maybe more than one box as I hazily recall.

Put up the tree! That's a good one! Maybe it'll be done Christmas Eve.

Now...does anyone have any eggnog? I can get ready for that!

My outdoor decor sales are down this year. It's no wonder though, with this 80+ degree weather it hardly feels like December. Maybe some people feel the same and have not decorated yet?

I took the family to the Christmas on the square. Last year it was great, with the cold weather and hot cocoa, then the parade. This year it just didn't feel the same. Haha! I felt like I needed a fan at one point to cool me off.

I got all my outside done and stayed on the wifey until she got all the inside done --- now I have to put all the boxes back in the attic and I've put that off for two days ..... and I've heard about it!! Maybe I shouldn't have given her such a hard time about getting the inside decorated!! LOL
