Hey, I'm glad to see someone starting threads here besides me. I was starting to wonder if anyone was interested in what goes on outside the "bubble" of Sulphur Springs.
I haven't found the latest figures on costs for Air Force one, or it's counterparts. I did find an article from '04 from USA Today where they are talking about Bush making trips and it costing $56,800 per HOUR for AF1. It says in the article that Bush reimbursed some of the traveling that was done, especially for campaign stuff and when the First Lady used it. I haven't heard the media talking about cost by Obama.
Here's some more recent estimates. Now this is just for AF1 and it's cargo jet (I think carries the limo). This doesn't include man power, fighter jets escorts or their fuel. I'm sure the figures for fuel and such are the same for AF2, if that's what the first lady are in. Your right, complain about CEO's wasting money, the Obama's do the same with taxpayer money, and what's sad is the Obama's have plenty enough money to help reimburse the people for her to vacation and shopping in foreign countries. I'm still trying to find more current studies. Seems that it's getting harder and harder to find any hard figures on anything the new administration is doing. Their transparency window is a little dirty.
