Yep, that is absolutely correct. Ammo in in pretty short supply right now. The manufacturers are saying that demand is so high they are having a hard time keeping up. I hear that it may level off, but I doubt it. Pistol ammo seems scarce just about everywhere. The Pawn Shop told me they have plenty and they aren't gouging, like some other retailers are. When I last talked to them, the only ammo they were short on was .380. I buy some most weeks, though pistol ammo is harder to find, high caliber rifle is out there. I think it's only going to get worse. Spent brass is getting hard to find, since the military quit selling it and is now shredding it.

The demand of metal world wide has caused the price of anything metal to sky rocket. In our industry, in one year alone, the cost of steel more than quadrupeled.
