Not later than 18 months after the first day of Y1, the Commissioner shall submit to Congress and the applicable agencies an updated report on such study, including updates on such recommendations.

I hear ya. I have been reading through some of it and it makes my head hurt. I'm not sure if I have the stomach to read it all, and I'm only just beginning.

Like the section below. It seems to me that it is saying that you can keep your current health care, but any change or new enrollment voids it. It took a team of lawyers to write this crap.



(a) Grandfathered Health Insurance Coverage Defined- Subject to the succeeding provisions of this section, for purposes of establishing acceptable coverage under this division, the term ‘grandfathered health insurance coverage’ means individual health insurance coverage that is offered and in force and effect before the first day of Y1 if the following conditions are met:
(1) LIMITATION ON NEW ENROLLMENT-

(A) IN GENERAL- Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1.

(B ) DEPENDENT COVERAGE PERMITTED- Subparagraph (A) shall not affect the subsequent enrollment of a dependent of an individual who is covered as of such first day.

(2) LIMITATION ON CHANGES IN TERMS OR CONDITIONS- Subject to paragraph (3) and except as required by law, the issuer does not change any of its terms or conditions, including benefits and cost-sharing, from those in effect as of the day before the first day of Y1.

I know, this bill is not going to pass as it is. Lets focus not only on this bill..... but that this piece of crap was even written!!! And further more if there was not a flood of opposition this piece of crap would have passed.... passed by the Liberal Democrats that is supposed to be the friend of "working Man".

The Dems are going to try and go it alone. The White House just put out the previous info as a "trial balloon" to see how the extreme left would react, well I guess they got a reaction since it is now back on as originally proposed. What they fail to mention is, they are having a harder time keeping there own in line. The Republicans who WILL vote for this crap are all liberal anyway and should just change parties. They vote with the libs MOST of the time anyway, look at their voting records.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) is threatening to read EVERY page of the Senate bill from the beginning to the end, at an estimated 48 hours. I hope he does.

i don't see how that's a threat....i think it's a good thing that a senator is going to take the time, make the effort and live up to his oath of office. i'd like to see EVERY senator do the same! maybe legislation won't just be "rubber stamped" anymore if they collowed that creed instead.

What gets me is all the items that the Dems said we were making up and just wanting to deny people ie Illegal aliens being covered was not in the bill. Abortion is not there, rationed care is not there, medicare payments will not be cut. Folks it is ALL there, along with 111 added bureaucracies.
So when are we the people going to hold our elected idiots accountable? Everyone needs to inform themselves with the truth. Get good information from credible sites and change the way we vote, and everyone who has informed themselves needs to get out and VOTE!!!
I propose this coming election cycle that we make a special point of sharing information.
