Population is only one factor considered. If enough economic factors are favorable, then they can do what they want.
Passage of Prop 1 and 2 will not be a deterrent, but an enticement.
99: I believe you are correct that the passage of Prop 2 would be an enticement to other restaurants to open here in SS (Prop 1 plays no role whatsoever). However, to say that places like Muddy Jakes, Lou Viney's, etc. would be put out of business in four years is off base IMO. First of all, the passage of Prop 1 is simply an enticement -- that is all. There are many other factors that the "big boy" restaurants use to determine whether to open in a town or not (and the biggest is population). The same goes for a place like Muddy Jakes -- our business plan is to go into "smaller" towns. In fact, our next location will be in a small college town (not Commerce
Secondly, I know that Muddy Jake's business is strong and getting stronger each year --- I believe the same can be said for Lou Vineys. They are unique brands. An Applebees or a Red Lobster won't hinder our business if they did come in.
