I moved to the country from Dallas 10 years ago.
I wanted away from the congestion and violence. I do NOT want SS to grow. I want the small town feeling and small town shops, not big boxstores.SS can't take care of its own jails or roads. People have been trying to build the square up but it seems like certain people don't want the growth downtown. They want the growth out by Walmart. The economic development group wants companies to move to SS BUT they give them these incentives that they don't have to pay taxes.
I don't have any kids and I pay my share of school taxes. I want an educated generation.
Now we are getting another car dealership.
Please!!! This is truck country. We don't need that. The recycling, glad it was voted down. People don't do their research out here. They just see $$$$ signs. The recycling would be a disaster. The noise and pollution. I feel sorry for the people who live in that development. I know when they bought their house they never thought they would be neighbors with car dealerships and possibly recycling.
People need to look at the big picture. We need people on the city council that will look at the big pictue not $$$$$$. I don't know if Sellers will do that, look at what he is putting out. He looks like one of the good ole boys that just wants $$$$$$$.
Let's look at the taxes we need for good schools and helping the small businesses that are already here. I would love for the square to be full of little shops and people come visit and say positive things about SS. I always enjoy going to Winnsboro(wish LouVinney's was still there)
I haven't voiced my opinion on here in a while because I felt like I was getting beat up for saying my opinion.
