"Amen" to that! They say it "costs" when it is actually our dollars they haven't gotten their hands on to spend yet. As for their ability to manage well, remember this:
Strange But True......
There was once a (legit.?) "house of ill-repute" in Arizona called the Mustang Ranch, which also had a bar. The govt. shut the business down for tax evasion, because they believed they were not getting their fair share of taxes from the establishment.
The owner promply ran off with several suitcases of money to another country to avoid arrest. The U.S. federal govt. decided to re-open and run the establishment in order to keep the funds flowing into the govt. coffers. To make a longer story short, they failed miserably and the "business" was closed and auctioned off. To add insult to injury, it was actually bought back by the same previous exiled owner through a "straw" purchase by another friend!
Moral of this story:
If the govt. can't even run a whore house and liquor bar for profit, how are they going to manage YOUR tax dollars in a successful manner?
Think about it.....
