Here we are, the last day of early voting. Can’t you feel the excitement in the air? The Debra Medina campaign, despite the mud slinging and negative campaigning by opponents, has stood their ground and remained focused on the real issues affecting We Texans. The opposition to freedom is working feverishly to derail this Texas freedom movement, but we are relentless and vigilant in our fight for freedom and we continue to fight!
We have to win this campaign or Texas will have a NAFTA superhighway by 2011, our young girls could be subjected to forced injections, our state debt will continue to climb, and our quality of education will continue to fall. If Rick or Kay becomes the Texas ideal for conservatism, there will be more bailouts, more corporate cronyism, more career-first ideology with Constitution and constituents last. We Texans have had enough and it has got to stop here and now with this primary election.
We have seen record turn out in this primary and even the pundits are surprised at how many new and independent voters are going to the Republican primary polls. These new voters are Debra Medina supporters; they are lovers of freedom, and they understand what is at stake. We will win this race!
It reminds me of my friend who worked on the Bill Clements campaign back in 1978. There had been no Republican governor elected in Texas for 104 years. The whole state was democrat. My friend told me, "Everything was against us in 1978. Even the party structure and hierarchy didn’t support the citizen outsider. Clements thumbed his nose at the naysayer and said "Watch me!" Debra has the same Texas tough attitude because she is willing to stand with you, the citizens of Texas.
The polling numbers said that Clements would lose but he had supporters everywhere walking, calling and getting out the vote. He won that race and if we buckle down, spread the We Texans’ message, and drive voters to the polls on the March 2nd, Election Day, we can and will win just like in ’78. We must continue to fight; remember, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." - Thomas Jefferson
