I saw a sign for a new seafood restaurant going in downtown. Anyone know anything about it?

The Swamp Pot? I'm guessing cajun seafood. I, for one, am hoping for a nice crawfish Po-boy. Mmmm.

I don't understand how people eat stuff like a crawfish po boy. Or a fish taco. Now, I love me some fried catfish. And fried shrimp. And crab (oh yeah ). But a taco and a po boy are supposed to have MEAT in them --- not fish.

No offense new2country --- I do realize that I am the one who is wrong here

Best "Fish Tacos" I ever had were at Lake Guerro in Mexico some 40 years ago. We returned to the boat ramp after a morning of bass fishing. Three Mexican fisherman had a campfire going. Over the coals they were cooking bass fillets and heating tortillas. They invited us to join them. Heat the tortilla and use it to grab a piece of fish off the grill. Sprinkle on a few little chili peppers from a big box and wash it all down with a cold beer. Now that was a lunch.

ugh fish, i think a cafe...or would it be called a bistro with waiters dressed in french uniforms would be better if only i had money to make such a thing come true ! but something like that would go really well with the square instead of something called swamp pot....thats just my own opinion so no offense intended

I'm not gonna disagree with you. I eat at Muddy Jake's and I eat at Lou Vineys. Not sure I'll visit the Swamp Pot. If I'm eating fish around here, I'm doing catfish at AJs or at the new Dip Net.

I personally couldnt be happier that we are getting a cajun themed seafood place in town. I spent years in Louisiana working at different cajun restaurants. Fried catfish, froglegs, chicken and sausage or seafood gumbo. I learned to cook cajun and ill be heading that way soon enough to try and get hired on. I wanna be a part of it all. Oh and last I heard it is opening ast the end of the month. We need a lil cajun spice in the springs I think.

We've had cajun seafood here before -- in the building that IHop is now in. It didn't do too good!!

I would like to see a restaurant that served various kinds of fish, both fresh water and salt water. Also would prefer different kinds of preparation, including broiled, baked, blackened, etc. If you know of such, please give me a shout out.

Aj's and the other fish places here locally are great, but Swamp Pots is going to be much more than just fried fish. Everyone go give it a shot! I know one of the specialties they will have is shrimp cornbread, which I'm told everyone will love! The will be opening within the week!!!!
