I enjoy Coleman Park. Albeit the weather has been a little less inviting to go walking, I have layered a bit more and braved the chill. I went there on Monday and met a friend. We both enjoyed the 4 1/2 miles we walked. The conversation was great, too. There were several others walking at the same time. In other words, we weren't the only ones out and about. This was in the early afternoon. I returned yesterday, early morning this time, and walked another 4 1/2 miles. Another friend joined me and we walked a little over 3 miles. (You do the math on the distance. My legs are telling me today!). There were at least 10 others walking at the time. I have never seen the place empty during the day. It was wonderful seeing the ducks playing, butterflies going around to the various flowers, and at least two folks fishing. If that many people were out in the rather chilly weather, with the advent of more pleasant weather coming our way, there will be more folks. I usually walk in my neighborhood, but the unpleasant aroma of car fumes is not a very good companion. Coleman Park provides a great place to walk, see and be seen by others, and enjoy the wonderful area that the town has provided. If that fight had occured somewhere else, it would have been videotaped and put out there for all to see. Don't condemn the setting; this could have happened in Buford Park or any other "gathering" place. Go out there and walk. Hopefully it will be before I get to 7 miles; I don't think my legs would speak to me ever again!
