Parker Tillery, son of Michael and Amanda Tillery and lead trumpeter in the Bright Star Christian School Band, was awarded a position in the Four States Honor Concert Band. Only students in grades 10-12 can audition for a chair in the band.

A 58-year-old Hopkins County man died Tuesday evening from injuries sustained in a crash on State Highway 19, just north of the Mahoney Road intersection, that sent four people to the hospital by ambulance.
