Saltillo Independent School District is among an elite group of schools notified Tuesday afternoon by the US Secretary of Education that it has earned distinction as a National Blue Ribbon School. Only 7,900 American schools have earned this award over the course of the program’s 32-year history.

This week Bro. Wayne Darty (pastor of County Line Baptist Church) and wife, Danna (Hasten) Darty, returned from a trip to the Holy Land. Among many sights on their tour they were able to visit Jerusalem, be baptized in the Jordan River, climbed Mount Gamla and overlooked the Sea of Galilee while atop Mount Abel. With the unrest in the Middle East region, it is a relief that Bro. Wayne and Danna are now home.
