More than a dozen students injured; bus driver is in critical condition

Two adults were killed and more than a dozen students injured when a Mount Pleasant school bus was struck almost head-on by an 18-wheeler about 10:30 p.m. Thursday on US 271, about two miles south of Talco. The tractor-trailer also hit a vehicle driven by a coach traveling behind the bus.

ReachOut is a program of the Hopkins County Community Chest, where counselors travel to sites around the county each Friday, bringing all the services offered at the main office in Sulphur Springs to rural communities.
