While the long stretch of rain during the spring and early summer filled local lakes fuller than they’ve been in quite a while, it also filled up drainage ditches and backed up into some structures. Yantis Independent School District’s gymnasium was one of those casualties.

Yantis Independent School District this summer was tasked with filling 16 openings, 14 to replace staff and two to fill new positions for new school year. Six of the new staff were hired as administrative and support staff, and the rest filled teaching slots.
