Three students marked a milestone recently as they became the first students in Sulphur Springs High School’s health science technology program to earn their Certified Medical Assistant certifications. The students will be able to apply the skills they’ve learned over the last year toward a job in the health field.

More than $380,000 in scholarships were announced Monday night for Cumby High School seniors to further their education. The amount was distributed among eight of the 21 class members. In addition to scholarships, numerous academic awards were presented to students in grades six through 12.
