A one-car roll over accident about two miles south of Sulphur Springs off of State Highway 154 late Saturday night resulted in the death of 30-year-old Jessica Lorraine Fierst of Sulphur Springs.

The first call received by 911 operators came just after 11 p.m. Feb. 18, in which a woman reported hearing what she said sounded like an explosion. A second caller reported the crash and said one person had been ejected from a white Toyota vehicle.

There were two passengers in the car when it ran off the road and overturned. Jessica Fierst, the driver, was thrown from the vehicle, according to Hopkins County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Brad Cummings, who was called to the scene.

Cummings said the passenger apparently was not injured in the crash. He became combative and refused treatment by paramedics at the scene.

Cummings said that investigating Highway Patrol Trooper Damon Williams asked for an autopsy, which is routine in an accident with more than one person in the vehicle.

Funeral services for Jessica Lorraine Fierst have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at League Street Church of Christ.
